How it Works

Why should I join NurseSake?

With NurseSake, you can create as many connections as you like for a variety of different purposes. While you are an expert in one area and willing to assist others, you might have questions or need support in another area. NurseSake helps you to take care of both! NurseSake creates a perpetual cycle of support—the person needing guidance gains strength from others then is empowered to assist those looking for guidance.

If you want to reach out, share your experience, extend a helping hand, and assist those who are entering or want to progress within the profession, then NurseSake is the right place. We are in our early stages of development, but with your help we can grow to meet the needs of all nurses at all stages of their career.

1. Create your profile

Whether you are willing to help other nurses or seeking assistance, the first step will be to create your profile which will tell others about

  • Your nursing experience—your educational background, specialties, certifications, licensure, and other information to help others seeking assitance
  • Topics you may be willing to assist with and nurses you would allow to find your profile
  • Topics you would be interested in learning more about from other nurses

2. Make your profile visible to other members

Once you've created your profile, you have the option of hiding it from searches on NurseSake.com or making it findable. You can manage the visibility of your profile from My Profile.

3. Watch your email inbox

If you have indicated on your profile that other members may find and contact you, they will be able to send you a private message with their questions through NurseSake. Messages from members are relayed by NurseSake to your registered email address without disclosing either sender's or recipient's contact information—only member Screen Names will be shared (see our Privacy Policy).

When you receive a message from another member, simply reply to their email and NurseSake will relay the message using an @mail.nursesake.org email address. You may safely communicate back and forth with the member this way for as long as you like.

4. Search for members

Even if you're not interested in receiving assistance from others, you can search for members looking for the type of experience you have. Search by education, specialty, certifications, licenses, experience, employment status or any of the other fields that you completed in your own profile.

A few points to keep in mind:

  • Each member, including yourself, has the ability to opt-out of being found or contacted, so the person you find today might be unavailable another day. Once you've saved them to your account they will remain there as long as their profile is active, although your ability to contact them is their choice.
  • NurseSake is very new and we are receiving new registrations daily. The nurse you need might not be a member yet, so check back often for new profiles.

5. Save members to your account

While browsing nurse profiles you may find members who you want to contact immediately, but you may also find members who might be valuable resources for the future. Save them to your account to contact another day.

6. Contact a member

When you find someone looking for the kind of experience you have, you can reach out to them through NurseSake and make a connection. As a Seek & Share member, you can send a private message to another member which will be relayed to them via email without sharing your contact information. They will only see your screen name and message (see our Privacy Policy).

Responses to your message will be sent to your email inbox using the email address you registered with at NurseSake.com. All messages between members are relayed using an @mail.nursesake.org email address, and no contact information is shared other than Screen Name. Email communications can continue back and forth freely and anonymously this way for as long as you like.
